Question by Variant7: How do you think the spirit world feel about the killing of animals for food?
I think animals have spirits too. But, as human beings, we kill animals in mass numbers for food and to create products.

Does the spirit world frown on this killing, and weep for the way humans treat animals? Or, do you think the spirits understand that it’s a needed part of physical existence (because we are living in physical bodies, and so we need to eat animals to nourish our bodies)?

If animals had spirits then God would not have told man to kill them.

I’m okay with killing animals for food. You know why? Because they taste good.
No spirit world gives a crap.

Possibly the same way the plant world feels about killing plants for food.
Have you ever told a lie, ever stolen, lusted, refused to forgive, hated?
Your own God-given conscience tells you that you need His forgiveness! Confess your sins to Him right now, ask His forgiveness and turn from them (“repentance”). Then trust that Jesus took the punishment you deserved, on His cross.

    Welcome to this world.

There is no “spirit world.” It’s the food chain. We’re on top, so we get to pick and choose what we eat just as other animals on top of the food chain in their habitat. Everything has to die at some point anyway.

Jesus ate fish along with His disciples, and what about the sacrifices in the old Testament? Animals have no spirit but a soul which is why they live in the world in the flesh. Man has a spirit.

I agree with you that animals have spirits which come from God, just as we do. The Bible also says the same thing. But that does not make it wrong to eat meat. Also, just because it is alright to eat meat does not mean it is alright to kill animals in inhumane ways and cause them to suffer. But just because we have no right to cause animals to suffer inhumanely so that we can eat meat does not mean we can’t kill them in large numbers. There are a lot of human beings in this world, and I am not willing to ask any of them to go hungry, or let their children go hungry, so that every animal can live in a paradise. We need to feed people. We should be grateful to God and to animals for the food they provide us. We should treat them well, and with respect, but we should also remember that sometimes our technologies can also be used to increase the comfort and reduce the suffering of the animals we use for food.

Act 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
